What are the possible health risks when living close to a Mobile Cell Phone Transmitter Mast?

In spite of all the recent research, the answer is, no one knows, yet. Not for definite.
|

Personally I wish I could tell you that it was not harmful, but I feel that all the evidence is pointing towards the fact that it will cause health problems of some degree.
|
|

Mobile phones and cell phone transmitter masts have been around for some years now, but the health problems related to using a mobile phone or living in the proximity of a cell phone mast are difficult to accurately assess.
|
|
The mobile phone operators have enlisted numerous independent experts to analyse the potential health hazard and come up with inconclusive evidence.
|
|
Also scientists and researchers who have no relationship whatsoever with the mobile phone companies have conducted test after test and also drawn their own conclusions.
|
|
That conclusion is that it is still too early to say whether health can be adversely affected when being exposed to radiation from a mobile phone or transmitter aerial mast over a period of time. However, this is of no comfort to those who are unfortunate enough to live in areas close to these masts.

What the mobile phone companies are doing is in effect making some of us reluctant guinea pigs, seeing what happens and then doing something about it.
|
|
There is no insurance company anywhere that will insure a mobile phone company against potential future claims from people who have developed health issues attributed to being subjected to radiation from a mobile phone or cell phone mast.
|
|
It seems as though the mobile phone companies are making hay whilst the going is good, to make their own short term financial gains, regardless of what damage they could be causing and what the long term effects could be.
|
|
Cigarette companies are a good example of this syndrom. The big push via media advertising in the 1950s and 1960s saw their profits soar. Looking back, it was fairly evident that the chemicals used in the manufacture of cigarettes were going to cause health issues at some stage.
|
|
Once more and more cases of cancer, (in particular lung cancer) became evident and it was determined that the cigarettes were the root cause, then something was done. But how many lives could have been saved if more research had been done earlier. Sometimes financial gain gets in the way of peoples safety and health.
|
|
The choice is difficult. You do not need to use or own a mobile phone, that is your choice, but if there is a mobile cell phone mast near to where you live, work or go to school, its a lot harder. You could move home, get another job or change school, but chances are unless you are really lucky, you could find that there is another phone mast in that area, or there will be another one erected sometime after you have moved.

Unfortunately there is no answer. I have heard of people lining their house with reflective shielding to protect them from the possible radiation. Its really the unknown element that is the most frightening.
|
|
Whilst more and more testing goes on I can tell you one thing that is almost certain. I bet that there is not one director or higher employee of any of the cell phone companies who lives in the close proximity of a transmitter cell phone mast. And I wonder if they allow their young children to have a mobile phone?
